Back in July, I photographed Sophia to document her second birthday. You may remember seeing her grace my blog as a baby.......since then she has only grown more lovely! This shoot had to be broken into two sessions due to Michigan's EXTREME heat this summer, which worked out fine for outfit changes! The second half of the session features Sophia and her little sister Alexandra (also featured on my blog a few months ago and equally as lovely!) in a cute pair of dresses mom ordered for them for Sophia's 'Cinco de Mayo' themed birthday party! Enjoy the pictures and brace yourselves for some serious cuteness!!
I had a little ladybug prop to help get Sophia to look at the camera. She wanted to play with it and moments later, threw it over the side of the rail into a small ravine! Sophia's dad, a firefighter, quickly scaled the wall into the ravine to save the day and the ladybug...Sophia was thrilled!!
A few of Sophia and her baby sister (who she clearly adores!!)
And a few of just Alexandra...
Fast forward a few days (still equally as hot, but the girls equally as cute!!)...
Mom and I tried so desperately to get the girls to lay in the grass for the 'perfect' shoot but we were not having much luck...We busted out a popsicle (which didn't help the cause!) but I snapped this adorable shot of baby sis eying the treat!!
One of my favorites of the day...towards the end, we all took a break as mom and I brainstormed for how to coax them into our visionary shot...I love this one of the three of them, just hanging out... I would so blow this up large size for the wall!!
And lastly, one outtake of the day (ok, maybe two!). At some point, during both shoots, Sophia mastered the 'avoidance of eye contact with the camera' technique (kids always do!). In trying to get her to look up at me, I pointed out an airplane in the sky. Well, she pointed it out too! Twice. Didn't get the look at the camera I was hoping for, but I got these two adorable shots!
