I am so excited for this blog entry I could squeal. Seriously. Back in April, my beautiful sister and awesome brother-in-law got married. In Memphis. And asked me to photograph their wedding. I was beyond honored, and frankly, excited for the excuse to vacation to Memphis. We had a blast spending the week down there with them and are so excited for them as they begin their happily ever after.
Why Memphis you ask? My sister has a slight [major] Elvis addiction and what better place to get married other than the little chapel right next to Graceland... :D
It was the perfect, laid back, destination wedding. A small group of their closest family members, pictures at Graceland, and a tour around Memphis in a pink Cadillac. Seriously, a pink cadillac!! [see the pictures below] Follow that up with a reception dinner of BBQ ribs and Blues at B.B.Kings and you have perfection. Total perfection.
I have always been envious of my sister's beauty.. Kathy, you're gorgeous. xxoo
The chapel was amazing and took care of all the details. My sister is very simple and all she wanted was a bouquet of yellow daisies. Check and Mark.
This little chapel was adorable!
[my son is the little guy] :D
Don't you just love the chocolate brown and yellow combo?
cousins.
my sister and i...love this girl. madly.
Off to Graceland for a few pictures. Now you may be wondering why our dad is wearing a pink suit coat. For my wedding, when my dad asked me what the guys would be wearing I jokingly replied 'pink leather suits'. Well my dad, being the jokester, went out and got a white suit coat and dyed it pink and showed up at the church to surprise me. It was a hoot and we all got a good laugh out of it so my dad made sure to bring it to Memphis to change into for a few pics. :D
on Elvis's front porch...
and onto the pink cadillac. loved this car!!!
jamerson was less than thrilled to get out of the *cool* car.
We made a quick stop at the high school Elvis attended for a few pictures. :D :D
we parked the car in a field to catch the last little bit of daylight...
We finished the night off at BB Kings on Beale Street with good company, food, and music....perfection.
These are fabulous in so many ways. Love the simplicity and the intimacy and the details and story. Beautiful!
